Catherine “Kathi” Nelson-Re, 79, of Temperance, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in Genesis Health Care, Sylvania, OH. Born March 23, 1938, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Kolinski) Kopczynski. Kathi was a 1956 graduate of Bedford High School. She enjoyed gardening, baking, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Bonnie Weis, Barbara (Kenneth) Nelson-Kahsen, Gerald Nelson, John (Nacha) Nelson and Laurie (Jeff) Hoffsmith, sister, Stella Davenport; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Kathi was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will from 3-8 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Temperance, MI. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Genesis Healthcare Homestead Unit in Sylvania for the exemplary personal care given to Kathi during her time there.
